STATUS: Permanent full-time positions, permanent part-time positions, and on-call positions

JOB POSTING NUMBER: 672

POSTING PERIOD: From July 21 to July 25, 2025

SALARY: Class 2 – $22.41/hour

SCHEDULE:

  • Permanently full-time positions: 33 hours per week on variable schedules
  • Permanently part-time positions: 15 hours per week on variable schedules
  • On-call positions (reservists): Up to 40 hours per week depending on your availability (no guarantee of hours)

WORKING MODE: In-person

The challenges that await you

As a loan officer, you will help make the library welcoming and an essential living space for citizens. You will perform various tasks including loans and returns of documents, sorting volumes, subscriptions, and you will ensure to inform citizens about various topics related to the library, including opening hours, activity schedules, addresses of other libraries, etc.

The ideal profile for us
  • Have completed high school diploma (DES);
  • Have one (1) year of relevant experience in customer service requiring direct contact with the public;
  • Have an interest in literature and general culture;
  • Have a perfect knowledge of French, both spoken and written, and a functional mastery of the English language orally (an asset);
  • Be comfortable with computers and new technologies, including digital reading devices;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and be a good team player;
  • Be able to work under pressure, respond adequately to unforeseen situations, and demonstrate great adaptability.
