This role sits within Laurentian Bank.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of prestigious clients with substantial financial requirements needing superior service.


Responsibilities:

The Private Banking business unit is responsible for ensuring the profitable growth of the Bank's assets and liabilities by offering products and services that meet the needs of a preferred clientele in accordance with set standards and policies.

Private Banking offers a full range of retail financial services, including portfolio management, financial planning, private banking services and tax advice. In this context, the Private Banker must:
  • Develop a business development plan to grow the investment portfolio and the range of products and banking solutions by identifying potential customers, creating contacts and scheduling meetings.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current clients and prospects with a Private Banking profile.
  • Target client needs and predict how their situation may evolve; recommend strategies adapted to client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Use in-depth knowledge of his or her field of specialization to analyse and interpret information.
  • Work closely with Private Banking and Retail Services personnel to ensure coherence and synergy in business development and customer service.
  • Develop the seven areas of financial planning in an effort to solidify sustainable relationships and grow the client's wealth.
  • Be aware of market trends and the competition; do everything to maintain a competitive edge in a proactive manner.
  • Negotiate fair and equitable compensation when selling products and services.
  • Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders involved in branch operations.
  • Perform all tasks of a similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job.
  • Implement optimal strategies for developing agreements made by the Bank.
  • Represent the organization and promote the Bank's image by developing and maintaining business relationships with current and potential clients, influential people, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, financial services, or an equivalent in a field related to financial services, including 5 years of experience in a financial services sales environment.
  • Professional title: Financial Planner
  • Certification as a mutual fund representative
