Business Development Director

Role and responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Director, Business Development will be responsible for transforming the company into an organic growth machine. From the outset, he or she will be responsible for a team of 3 representatives with a “hunter” profile, with the task of doubling his team in the medium term. At the same time, he or she will also be called upon to implement a CRM to support the company in achieving its ambitious sales objectives. Among his other responsibilities:

 

Business development:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
  • Plan and measure the efficiency of business development activities.
  • Define new markets and structure prospecting territories.
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with existing customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (production, design, logistics, customer service) to ensure the feasibility and profitability of projects.

 

Sales management and negotiation:

  • Prepare and present commercial offers tailored to the needs of clients.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and ensure rigorous monitoring of agreements.
  • Conduct market analyses and monitor the competition to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend improvements to product and service offerings.

 

Monitoring and optimization:

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets set by the company.
  • Ensure regular monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and produce progress reports.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences and events to strengthen the company's reputation and expand its business network.

  

Knowledge and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the packaging industry or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role with team management.
  • Experience in prospecting, negotiation and customer account management.

 

 Required skills and abilities

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to quickly identify new opportunities.
  • Autonomy, rigor and good organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with computerized management systems (CRM, advanced Excel).
  • Bilingualism French – English, oral and written written.
